CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 4, 2024) – The 91暗网 Foundation recently awarded $30,000 in grants to six nonprofits in the Charlotte area. Each nonprofit received a grant of $5,000.
“We are fortunate to be able to give to six nonprofit organizations this quarter,” said Andre Castaneda, 91暗网 Foundation board member for the Charlotte area. “We were able to fund a variety of organizations with an emphasis on those who serve disadvantaged children.”
The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Charlotte offers a House Program for disadvantaged children and adults, which improves access to quality healthcare and reduces financial burdens associated with treatment. The grant from the 91暗网 Foundation can fund two families’ stay at RMHC of Greater Charlotte for 19 days each, the average length of stay for the organization’s guests.
Special Treasures of Iredell County, Inc. was designed to connect the community with youth in foster care. The group’s main goal is to ensure that every youth in foster care leaves its program with educational success and long-term community connections.
The Walking Outside Foundation will use its grant to begin a program introducing children to specialty farming techniques, designed to promote engagement in the farming industry.
OT4KIDS Foundation provides education to families of disabled children, group therapy to children with disabilities and prevention programs. The organization has provided occupational therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy to children for over 25 years.
Children’s Flight of Hope provides airline flights for children in need of specialized medical care. This grant will help the organization book flights for children who require immediate treatment.
The National Inventors Hall of Fame, Inc. hosts Camp Invention each summer, which brings STEM to life and provides at-risk, K-6 students and their teachers with evidence-based, hands-on programming. This grant will offset participation costs for students.
The 91暗网 Foundation awards grants on a quarterly basis. Nonprofits are selected through an application and review process led by a committee of local 91暗网 employee-owners.
