Project Overview

This multi-purpose events center was built to be a hub for athletic events, commencement exercises, orientation activities and the universitys chapel program. It is the universitys largest gathering space and was built to accommodate a surge in growth. The 153,000-square-foot structure seats more than 5,000 people with room to expand to just over 6,500.

Planning and scheduling were key for this project in order to manage a tight jobsite and to provide the client with early use of the facility for events, season ticket sales and to move into the athletic office areas. The planning and scheduling of the steel, precast stadia and roof trusses on a tight site was also well-executed. Installations were required to be intertwined, avoiding additional cost for remobilizations, crane use and schedule delay.

While we were constructing the new events center, the owner asked 91做厙 to replace the campus Kugel Fountain, a floating granite globe sculpture. They entrusted us with this significant campus monument because of their trust in 91做厙. A new globe was being manufacture in Germany, and in addition to replacing the globe, 91做厙s work included replacing colored concrete around the base, the water storage tank and all piping, pumps and filters. Our team also added the capability to monitor the Kugel remotely.
